You have a right to be presumed innocent

When you're arrested and facing charges, it can feel like it's up to you to prove that you're innocent. You may feel like everyone is assuming that you're guilty and you have to change their minds. For example, perhaps someone accused you of theft. You may feel like you have to prove that you weren't at the store or you did not take the items in question.
