Police charge 5 people after alleged armed robbery, death

Five people from Maryland are defendants in a case of murder that reportedly had to do with marijuana. According to the authorities, the accused individuals entered the home - supposedly with firearms in tow - of a 19-year-old man that one of them had recently made a drug deal with in North East, Maryland. It was then that the 19-year-old and three guests in his home were told to lie down on the floor. Witnesses said that one of the intruders then told the 19-year-old to hand something over, but he responded that he didn't have anything. This is when he was supposedly hit with a gun.

An altercation ensued, during which the 19-year-old grabbed the aforementioned gun and shot the one who had allegedly hit him with a gun - a 25-year-old man from Aberdeen, Maryland. Another individual accused in the incident then reportedly shot the 19-year-old. It was then that police believe the group grabbed a Mason jar containing marijuana and then left the scene. Authorities were phoned by the 19-year-old's guests, and the man was rushed to Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 25-year-old sought treatment at Union Hospital where officials informed police that he was being treated for a gunshot wound.

It was then that reports were aligned, and police believed they had a suspect for the incident. Four other people were arrested, and all five have been or will be hit with criminal charges. These include possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault and first- and second-degree murder. Four of the defendants have been charged. The 25-year-old is in critical condition, and a warrant has been issued to charge him once he is released. The group included two women and three men, varying in age from 18 to 25 years old. If any of them are convicted, they could be facing a considerable amount of time behind bars. All of them, however, deserve a fair and balanced trial, as well as the right to appeal an unfavorable verdict, just as any other person charged with a crime.
